The Physicians’ Clinic of Iowa Department of ENT is seeking a full time Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to work as a team member within our busy practice.
Primary duties for this position include but are not limited to:
- Prepare charts and documentation in advance of patient appointments
- Greet and room patients while maintaining a welcoming and professional environment
- Record vital signs and other essential health data accurately
- Maintain and update patients’ electronic health records including medications, allergies, past medical history, family history, and review of systems
- Document physician exam findings, procedures, and diagnostic codes accurately
- Process and send prescriptions to pharmacies
- Handle patient and pharmacy nursing calls professionally and efficiently
- Assist in running daily clinic operations
- Enter and manage patient orders, referrals, and prescriptions
- Track and log test results and patient progress notes
- Communicate with referring providers, primary care physicians, and surgical centers as needed
Qualifications:
- Current Certified Medical Assistant required.
- Previous experience in a clinical setting preferred, ENT experience a plus.
- CPR certification is required or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
- Strong Commitment to patient care and teamwork.
- Excellent communication skills, professionalism, reliability, and maintaining confidentiality.
- Proficiency (or ability to become proficient) in EMR and related computer systems.
- Thorough understanding of safety regulations and best practices.
