At Physicians' Clinic of Iowa, we are focused on delivering quality patient care. Our Department of Orthopedics is currently seeking a full time Scribe to deliver care that is second to none in our high volume-fast paced practice.
Primary duties for this position include, but are not limited to:
- Enter and manage electronic data, coordinate on-going changes as related to electronic medical records (i.e. consistent/proper coding, future of electronic charges).
- Document physicians finding and impression for each patient seen throughout the clinic day. Accurately record the appropriate procedure codes, ICD10 codes, procedure notes, log patient test results and progress notes.
- Comply with all legal and ethical requirements for medical documentation.
- Notify physicians when medical records are incomplete or medical documentation contains errors/inconsistencies. Actively aid in the collection and organization of data for physician quality reporting system and quality initiatives to increase the patient compliance and improved outcomes.
- Accurately document evaluations and procedures as being performed by the physician.
- Identify problems and recommend solutions.
- Proactively develop, introduce, maintain and update clinic scribe process.
Qualifications:
- Must be or have the ability to become proficient in keyboard skills and medical terminology.
- Proficiency (or ability to become proficient) in EMR and related computer systems.
- Strong Commitment to patient care and teamwork.
- Excellent communication skills, professionalism, reliability, and maintaining confidentiality.
- Thorough understanding of safety regulations and best practices.
