Located in SW Cedar Rapids, ACP, Inc. is a division of Welbilt, an Ali Group Company, and since 1969, has been a leader in manufacturing and designing commercial high-speed and microwave ovens used in some of your favorite restaurants.
We are seeking a Buyer to join our procurement team. Will manage the end-to-end procurement process to support production schedules while maintaining optimal inventory levels, supplier price negotiations, on-time delivery and the best quality.
Key Accountabilities Include:
- Purchasing & Procurement: Generate purchase orders (POs), negotiate vendor pricing, and manage vendor relationships to ensure quality and timely delivery. Resolve quality or delivery issues promptly to support manufacturing and service.
- Material Requirements Planning (MRP): Analyze demand forecasts and production schedules to determine material needs.
- Inventory Control: Maintain optimal inventory levels, monitoring safety stocks and reorder points to prevent shortages or excess stock.
- Supplier Management: Monitor vendor performance, resolve issues, and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with other areas of the business to prioritize customer needs.
- Data Analysis: Maintain accurate data in ERP/MRP systems, track performance metrics (KPIs), and identify cost-improvement opportunities
- Reporting: Timely and accurate related reporting and ad-hoc reporting requests as directed.
Requirements/Position Competencies:
- HS diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in Business or Supply Chain desirable.
- 5+ years related experience in a manufacturing environment, which can be a combination of education and experience.
- Experience to include: strategic sourcing, vendor management, inventory management, production planning, materials management and manufacturing.
- Effective negotiation skills with attention to detail and follow through.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP) and experience with ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics AX).
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and Bills of Material (BOM).
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective written and verbal communication with internal team members and external vendors.
- APICS (CPIM) certification is a plus.
