Certified Medical Assistant

Physicians Clinic of Iowa, PC

The Physicians’ Clinic of Iowa Department of ENT is seeking a full time Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to work as a team member within our busy practice.

 

Primary duties for this position include but are not limited to:

  • Prepare charts and documentation in advance of patient appointments
  • Greet and room patients while maintaining a welcoming and professional environment
  • Record vital signs and other essential health data accurately
  • Maintain and update patients’ electronic health records including medications, allergies, past medical history, family history, and review of systems
  • Document physician exam findings, procedures, and diagnostic codes accurately
  • Process and send prescriptions to pharmacies
  • Handle patient and pharmacy nursing calls professionally and efficiently
  • Assist in running daily clinic operations
  • Enter and manage patient orders, referrals, and prescriptions
  • Track and log test results and patient progress notes
  • Communicate with referring providers, primary care physicians, and surgical centers as needed

 

Requirements:

  • The leading candidate will demonstrate behaviors reflective of PCI’s culture including, demonstrating a strong commitment to providing exceptional patient care, collaborating effectively with team members, and maintaining a high standard of reliability and professionalism.
  • Excellent communication skills are essential. Candidates must be or become proficient in the use of computer systems, including electronic medical records (EMR).
  • Current Certified Medical Assistant required. Previous experience in a clinical setting preferred,
  • ENT experience a plus.
  • CPR certification is required or must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
