The Physicians Clinic of Iowa Department of Orthopedics is seeking a full-time Surgery Scheduler for its busy practice.  This individual will be responsible for the entire scheduling process including, but not limited to the following:

 

Primary duties for this position include, but are not limited to:

• Coordinate surgery with patient, hospital, anesthesia, and physician’s schedule.
• Schedule labs, radiology studies, and EKG’s when indicated.
• Schedule preadmission surgical appointments if indicated.
• Schedule appointments with family physician, cardiologist, or any referring physicians if appropriate.
• Work with Prior Authorization team to obtain insurance prior authorizations for diagnostic testing and surgical procedures.

 

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in medical office performing similar functions, preferred.
• Proficiency (or ability to become proficient) in EMR and related computer systems.
• Strong Commitment to patient care and teamwork.
• Excellent communication skills, professionalism, reliability, and maintaining confidentiality.
• Thorough understanding of safety regulations and best practices.
