Cedar Rapids Eye Care is looking for an energetic, reliable, and motivated person to join our clinical team!

Duties will include the following:
Primary Clinical Responsibilities:

Managing the Daily Clinical Schedule: Monitoring patient flow and assisting in keeping appointments running on time.

Patient Escorting & Rooming: Bringing patients back to exam rooms and preparing them for the doctor. Full days of being mostly on your feet will be the norm.

Preliminary Testing: Performing testing including:

Autorefraction
-
Tonometry (eye pressure testing)
-
Retinal photography
-
Other specialty diagnostic testing as indicated

Electronic Documentation: Accurately entering test results and relevant patient information into the EMR.

Doctor Support: Preparing patients according to each doctor’s individual preferences and ensuring smooth transitions into the exam.

Maintaining Patient Flow: Helping minimize wait times and keeping the clinic efficient.

Stocking & Organization: Keeping exam rooms and workstations fully stocked with supplies and patient education materials.

Instrument Sterilization: Cleaning, disinfecting, and autoclaving clinical instruments according to established protocols.

Professional Patient Communication: Clearly explaining testing procedures, providing reassurance, and ensuring patients feel comfortable from infancy through advanced age.
Secondary / Cross-Training Responsibilities (as needed):
- Assisting at the front desk during busy periods or staff absences.
- Greeting patients and creating a positive first impression.
- Answering phones and assisting with appointment scheduling.
- Triage of incoming calls to determine appointment needs.
- Check-in and check-out procedures.
- Collecting co-pays and processing payments.
- Insurance verification and basic benefit explanation.
- Appointment reminder calls.
- Coordinating with team members to ensure a seamless patient experience.
