GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for preparing and staffing the facility for horse shows and events. Duties include customer interaction and service, facility cleaning and setup, staffing events, cleaning horse stalls, light maintenance work and setting up and tearing down portable stalls. Ability to operate utility vehicles, tractors and forklifts is not necessary, but is beneficial. Position hours are dictated by our event schedule. This position requires availability on pitchout days, event days, nights, weekends and holidays.
The work schedule for this position is determined by the Iowa Equestrian Center's Contracted Events, and will include nights, weekends, and holidays. To be considered for this position, the candidate must have a minimum of 4 hours availability on Monday's between the hours of 8am and 8pm, Minimum 15 hour per week commitment is preferred. Persons working in this position will experience dusty conditions, be required to attend weekly pitchouts, and the ability to frequently lift 50lbs is required.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Prepare facility for events.
- Pitch Stalls
- Maintain arenas before, after and during events.
- Provide prompt, courteous service while responding to customers’ needs effectively.
- Set-up and tear-down portable stalls as needed.
- Staff events.
- Ensure a clean and safe environment for animals, staff, and customers and communicate concerns to supervisors.
- Regular and consistent attendance at work.
- Perform other related work duties as assigned.

Position involves working in a variety of surroundings and environments. Occasional (10-33%) stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, sitting, pulling, grasping, climbing, balancing, traveling. Frequent (34-66%) walking, lifting up to 50lbs, talking, hearing, and repetitive motion. Constant (67-100%) standing.
Persons working in this position will be subject to atmospheric conditions that may affect the respiratory system or the skin; fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

- Willingness to learn to operate a tractor, skid steer, and forklift.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
