HOURS OF POSITION: 

• Flexible M-F between 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
• No weekend or evening hours

STATUS: Temporary; May 26 August 14
 

WAGE: $14 per hour

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION: Summer Classroom Assistants work alongside our trained CVMS staff to lead
activities and supervise children during CVMS summer programming. Summer Classroom Assistants will gain
valuable, practical experience in early education, and leadership.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist with a variety of Montessori-based activities for children ages 2 to 6 years old. 
• Prepare materials, set up facilities, and clean up after programs.
• Assist with student supervision.
• Ensure the safety of students.
• Follow all policies and procedures set by the CVMS.
• Other related assignments as necessary.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES: 

• Energetic with a positive attitude and a professional demeanor.
• Experience and passion for working with children.
• Creative and able to problem solve.
• Ability to share information clearly.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to stand, walk, sit/kneel on classroom floor, and follow written and oral instructions.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED required.
• Love of working with and guiding young children.
• Background working with children – including babysitting - preferred.
• Ability to pass a background check.
