Paraeducator

Mount Vernon Community Schools

The Mount Vernon Community School District is seeking two dedicated paraeducators—one at Washington Elementary and one at Mount Vernon Middle School. These roles are vital in helping us create a positive, inclusive learning environment where all students feel supported, safe, and empowered to grow. Paraeducators work directly with students in a variety of settings, offering academic, behavioral, and social–emotional support. They are an essential part of our collaborative team, partnering closely with teachers and staff to ensure each student receives the assistance they need to succeed.

We are looking for individuals who enjoy working with children, value teamwork, and bring patience, consistency, and a strong student-first mindset to their daily work. Ideal candidates are compassionate, reliable, and enthusiastic about helping students reach their full potential.

These positions start at $18.21 per hour and include 40 sick days, two personal days, and $630 per month toward insurance.
