GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
Kirkwood Community College's Agricultural Sciences Department seeks a skilled enthusiastic individual to join our faculty to teach courses in our Veterinary Technician Program. Primary duties will include assist with teaching the large animal lab.
The labs for this position will be Monday and Wednesday from 2:30 pm - 3:25 pm.$1,304 per credit hour of instruction.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Provide instructor lab support for Large Animal course in assisting students learning essential skills.
- Lab activities include, but are not limited to: blood draws, IM and sub-q injections, halter lead and tie, TPR.
- Assist with preparing and facilitating lab activities involving large and small ruminants and equine.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES WITH/WITHOUT REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION:

Position involves working in a classroom setting. Occasional (10-33%) sitting, pushing, pulling and grasping. Frequent (34-66%) reaching and viewing a computer and other types of close visual work. Constant (67-100%) standing, walking, repetitive motion, talking and hearing.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
-
- Three years of experience with large animals or bachelor’s degree in Animal Science.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS:
- Three years experience handling cattle, goats, and equine.
- AAS or Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science.
- Large animal husbandry experience.
- Demonstrated success in working collaboratively.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
