GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
Kirkwood Linn County Regional seeks an enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Adjunct Instructor for NET-130 Computer Concepts for Spring 2026. The face-to-face course will meet for sixteen weeks, January 12th – May 4th, 7:30 – 9:05 am on Monday, Wednesday, and every other Friday. The course is a basic introduction to Microsoft Windows operating systems that aligns with the CompTIA A+ certification examination.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Effectively instruct and communicate material for the course.
- Be able and willing to represent the college in the most positive manner with prospective, former, and current students, clients, suppliers, and the community we serve.
- Welcome, value, and nurture people of all backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences, as well as support and promote an environment that accepts differences.
- Check rosters to ensure that students in your section are registered for your section.
- Respond to students and to their work in a civil and timely fashion.
- Report midterm grades and final grades accurately and by the published deadlines.
- Respond to staff and administrative communications about individual students.
- Attend to your Kirkwood email each weekday.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES WITH/WITHOUT REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION:

Position involves sitting and/or standing most of the time in a classroom setting. Occasional (10-33%) repetitive motion, stooping, crouching, pushing, pulling, carrying and lifting up to 20 pounds. Frequent (34-66%) reaching, standing, walking, lifting and grasping. Constant (67-100%) talking, hearing and viewing various types of close work. May travel to other on-campus facilities, off-campus facilities and businesses to teach, attend meetings, etc.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
-
Bachelor’s or graduate degree in the area or a related area of study (Networking, Computer Support, etc) or occupational area in which the instructor is teaching classes OR special training and at least 6,000 hours of recent and relevant work experience in the occupational area or related industry certifications in which the instructor teaches classes if the candidate possesses less than a bachelor’s degree.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS:
- Completion of CompTIA A+ certification
- Familiarity or experience with teaching at a community college.
