MERGE Manager (Office and Facilities Manager)

Greater Iowa City, Inc. (Greater IC) is a network of business and community leaders working to support business, invest in strategic initiatives, and advocate for an economically resilient Johnson County. We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented MERGE Manager (Office and Facilities Manager) to manage the day-to-day operations and office management of our organization and those of our co-working operations in the MERGE building, downtown Iowa City.

This role will manage the Greater Iowa City, Inc. office operations while supporting the larger co-working, leasing, and conferencing at MERGE and MERGE@808 in Coralville.  MERGE is a co-working and entrepreneurial facility where the Greater Iowa City, Inc. Office is located.  You’ll have the opportunity to develop your administrative skills, learn new systems like Co-Bot, and grow with a mission-driven organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Office Management

  • Oversee general office operations, including supplies, equipment, and vendor relationships.
  • Provide support for daily co-working facilities and operations work.
  • Answer phones and greet visitors in a professional, welcoming manner.
  • Maintain organized filing systems and office records, including storage and records retention. 
  • Manage and oversee the front desk.
  • Assist with scheduling and supporting meetings, including preparing agendas and materials and room set-up. Assist with A/V and technology set up and arrangements for meetings. 
  • Manage contractors and be the liaison with landlords to support maintenance.
  • Provide general administrative support to the organization.
  • Collaborate with program interns as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS
 Experience

  • Minimum of two years experience required including proficiency in management of systems. Financial and bookkeeping experience is a plus. 
  • Office management/department administration experience preferred. 
  • Business experience and knowledge a plus.

  • Proficient in data entry and navigation of IT systems, such as customer relationship management systems. 
  • Proficient in internet and general computer use.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Word, Excel, and Outlook).

POSITION DETAILS
This is an exempt, full-time, benefits eligible position. Work is performed in-person at the MERGE co-working location in downtown Iowa City, 136 S Dubuque St. Work hours are primarily 8:00-5:00 PM, Monday-Friday, but may require occasional early morning, late afternoon, or weekend hours to accommodate meetings/events. Johnson County residence is required for emergency and facility access. A valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle access are required. 

Compensation is $50,000 or commensurate with experience.
