Warehouse Operations Lead & Fleet Coordinator

Thermal Shop

Are You the Organized Coordinator Who Keeps the Wheels Turning? We are looking for a Warehouse Operations Lead with Mechanical Aptitude to serve as the "Central Command" for our shop.

This is not just a job moving boxes; it is a key operational role that combines logistics coordination with fleet management. You will report directly to the Operations Manager. We don’t need a fabricator or an engine rebuilder. We need an organized, proactive individual who can organize the warehouse floor, manage our inventory with absolute precision, and keep our trucks and equipment accounted for and road-ready.

Note: While you won't be directly supervising laborers on Day 1, this role has strong potential to evolve into a leadership position as you master our systems.

The Mission: Logistics, Coordination, and Fleet Oversight

1. Warehouse Operations & Inventory Control (The Logistics Hub)

You are responsible for the heartbeat of the shop. If the crews don't have the right materials, they can't work.

  • Workflow Coordination: While you aren't the direct supervisor of the labor crew yet, you will coordinate with them to ensure loading and unloading operations happen efficiently and correctly.
  • Inventory Integrity: You own the inventory count. You must accurately track material usage, manage stock levels, and ensure our numbers in the system match exactly what is on the floor. Discrepancies cost us money, and you are the gatekeeper against loss.
  • Site Organization: You are responsible for the physical organization of the warehouse, ensuring every tool, drum, and part has a designated home.

2. Fleet Management & Asset Tracking (The "Eagle Eye") You are the owner of the fleet's health record.

You don't need to rebuild the transmission, but you need to know when it's due for service and ensure it gets done.

  • Maintenance Tracking: You will maintain the schedule for all trucks and heavy equipment. You are responsible for tracking oil changes, tire rotations, and inspections to ensure we never miss a service interval.
  • Mechanical Aptitude & Liability: We need someone with the mechanical sense to evaluate damage. If a truck comes back with a blown tire, you need the aptitude to determine if it was a road hazard (warranty/insurance) or operator abuse, and process the reimbursement claim accordingly.
  • Basic Maintenance: Perform light operational maintenance such as topping off fluids, changing lights/wipers, and coordinating drop-offs with external mechanic shops for heavy repairs.

3. Spray Foam Equipment Support Our rigs are our livelihood.

You will act as the first line of defense in keeping them operational.

  • Rig Readiness Checks: Verify that rigs are fully stocked, pressure systems are holding, and all necessary tools are on board before the crews leave the yard.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Oversee the routine hygiene of the equipment. This includes checking Y-strainer filters for clogs and inspecting spray guns to ensure crews have cleaned them properly.
  • Minor Troubleshooting & Supply: Assist in troubleshooting basic mechanical issues on the rigs and ensure spare parts (O-rings, screens, valves) are always in stock so a rig never goes down due to a missing $5 part.

The Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Organized & Detail-Oriented: You love spreadsheets, checklists, and accurate counts. You never let a detail slip through the cracks.
  • Mechanical Sense: You may not be a master mechanic, but you know your way around a truck. You can look at a worn part and understand why it failed.
  • Growth-Oriented: You are looking for a career, not just a job. You are eager to master the flow of operations and eventually take on more leadership responsibilities.
  • Cost-Conscious: You understand that a missed oil change or a lost inventory count costs the company money.

Requirements

  • Experience: 2+ years in Warehouse Management, Logistics Coordination, or Fleet Operations.
  • Skills:
    • Strong inventory management skills (Ability to maintain high-integrity counts).
    • Mechanical aptitude (Experience with tires, basic auto maintenance, or warranty claims is a plus).
    • Proficiency with computer basics (Excel/Email) for maintenance tracking.
  • Operational: Forklift certification and the ability to lift 75+ lbs.

Benefits & Why Join Us?

  • Direct Impact: You are the "Right Hand" to the Operations Manager. Your organization keeps the entire company profitable.
  • Stability: This is a year-round position with consistent hours.
  • Ownership: You will have the autonomy to build your own systems for inventory and fleet tracking.
  • Compensation Package:
    • $26.00-$32.00/hr DOE
    • 401k with Company Match
    • Medical Stipend
    • Paid Time Off & Holiday Pay
