IT Support Supervisor

Physicians’ Clinic of Iowa is seeking an IT Support Supervisor in the company’s Cedar Rapids, IA headquarters campus to oversee the work of the IT department and ensure that projects and tasks are completed on time and within budget.

 

The successful candidate will provide leadership for a team that provides day to day helpdesk support, and application support for a range of applications, telephone support, IT Physical Facilities Management, Personal Computing Device Management, and Mobile Device Management.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Manage ticket queues and priorities with a team of IT professionals. 
  • Recommend, plan and implement upgrades to endpoints and servers.
  • Learn and independently perform the tasks necessary to provision, document, and support, systems on-premises and cloud based.
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to understand business needs and develop IT solutions to meet those needs. 
  • Set goals and metrics to maintain a high level of user support.
  • Learn and manage systems such as phones, and medical record software support. 
  • Manage the daily helpdesk ticket volume and prioritize resources as needed.
  • Provide responsive after-hours on-call coverage on a rotating scheduled basis with other team members.
  • Support with the help of outside vendors the fleet of printers/scanners as well as any other equipment required for clinical operations. 
  • Manage a team of IT professionals, set goals, manage priorities and provide coaching where needed.

Requirements:

  • The qualified candidate will possess excellent troubleshooting skills, experience installing, configuring, patching, and troubleshooting Windows client and servers.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Infrastructure technologies, including Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP, TCP/IP, and VPNs. 
  • Working knowledge of server virtualization technology.
  • This individual will also have familiarity with Office 365 and tenant management, printers and print management, and telephone equipment, both digital and VOIP.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, able to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Leading candidate will have excellent communication skills (written and oral), strong customer service skills and the ability to work well with others. 
  • Previous management experience preferred.
  • Ideal candidate will have experience working in a healthcare environment
  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems or equivalent work experience of at least two years.
