Jensen Transport Inc. is seeking a Lead Diesel Mechanic to join our hard-working, driver-focused team in Independence, IA.

We value mechanics who can take ownership of their work—from diagnostics to repairs and test driving. A Class A CDL is preferred, but we will cover the cost of CDL training if you do not have that! 

Position Details

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM
• Occasional additional hours available based on maintenance needs
• Work performed at our shop in Independence, IA

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive truck and trailer maintenance and repairs
• Diagnose mechanical issues and complete repairs efficiently
• Work on Freightliner trucks, including Detroit Diesel Series 60 and DD13 engines
• Handle a wide range of repairs—from tires and brakes to engine and transmission rebuilds
• Support preventive maintenance efforts to keep the fleet operating at peak performance

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of verifiable diesel mechanic experience
• Strong work ethic and motivation to grow within the role
• Class A CDL preferred (training provided at no cost if needed)
