This Sales Manager role is critical to our continued growth and long-term success.
The Role
The Sales Manager is responsible for leading, developing, and holding accountable the in-home sales team while maintaining a limited personal sales load. This is a hands-on leadership role that owns sales execution, talent development, performance management, and cross-functional collaboration with marketing, operations, and ownership.
The Sales Manager coaches in the field, leads structured meetings and training, supports complex sales situations, manages escalations, and ensures that systems, standards, and culture are consistently upheld.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Leadership & People Development
- Recruit, hire, onboard, train, coach, evaluate, and—when necessary—discipline or terminate sales representatives
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, ride-alongs, performance reviews, and performance improvement plans
- Establish and enforce clear expectations, standards, and accountability
- Reduce rep ramp time and improve quota attainment
Sales Operations & Performance Management
- Assign and manage incoming leads and staffing coverage
- Monitor and report on key performance metrics including close rate, average sale, booked revenue, margin, NSLI, and financing approval rates
- Maintain sales pipeline visibility and issue-tracking systems
- Review contracts, financing, and job paperwork for accuracy and completeness
- Collaborate with leadership on pricing updates, financing programs, and performance strategy
Training & Meetings
- Lead the weekly Sales Meeting (Mondays at 9:00 AM)
- Coordinate with the CEO and Marketing Director to support the weekly Kitchen Designer meeting
- Host weekly targeted sales training for underperforming reps
- Attend industry conferences and return with actionable insights
Customer Experience & Escalations
- Handle customer escalations, cancellations, and collections follow-up
- Support representatives with complex, high-value, or difficult closes
- Ensure alignment between sales commitments and operational execution
Culture, Systems & Collaboration
- Reinforce company values, professionalism, and team culture
- Support incentive programs, bonuses, trips, and team-building initiatives
- Ensure consistent use of CRM, sales tools, and reporting systems
- Identify and implement improvements to systems, processes, and training
- Provide feedback to leadership on tools, workflows, and performance gaps
- Assist marketing/content teams with sales-enabling insights and subject matter expertise
Personal Selling
- Maintain a limited personal sales schedule to stay sharp, credible, and connected to the customer experience

Qualifications
- Proven experience leading an in-home or consultative sales team (home improvement or construction strongly preferred)
- Strong coaching, training, and people-development skills
- Ability to hold others accountable with clarity and fairness
- Solid understanding of sales metrics, margins, and performance management
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with CRM systems and sales technology
- Ability to lead both in-office and in the field
Compensation & Upside
This role offers a high six-figure earning opportunity tied directly to performance, leadership impact, and company growth.

Expected Total Compensation:

Year 1 (including ramp period): approximately $125,000+

Stabilized Role: approximately $155,000–$215,000+

Top Performance with incentives: $165,000–$250,000+
Bonus structures are volume-based, capped monthly and annually, and adjusted yearly for inflation.
