The Jones County Sheriff’s Office is now accepting applications for the position of Jail Administrator. 

This is a Full-time position with a county benefit package. 

Requirements:

• Qualified applicants must be at least 18 years of age
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent
• Be able to work various hours
• Is of good moral character as determined by a thorough background investigation
• Is not by reason of conscience or belief opposed to the use of force, when appropriate or necessary to fulfill the person’s duties
• Has the ability to perform the essential elements of the position as defined in department job specifications
• Able to follow jail policy and procedures, Iowa State Jail standards, Code of Iowa (all code sections that apply to jail operations)
• Be able to read and write the English language
• Possess a valid driver’s license
• Computer knowledge preferred
• Must have good communications skills (written and verbal)
• 3 years supervisory /administrative background preferred/not required
• Able to write policy and procedures
• Problem solve
• Has good organization skills
• Book keeping skills
• Able to work with Excel programs, Word documents, E-mail, Quicken program, and general computer skills.
• Oversight and managing jail operations and employees.

Salary range

• $74,685.00 to $84,685.00 depending on experience and qualifications.
