As a member of the F & O Human Resources team, the Recruiter works as a strategic business partner with key responsibility for full-cycle recruitment services. This position will assist with administering processes to attract and select high performing staff for Finance and Operations. The position exercises independent judgement, a high level of confidentiality, guidance and compliance with UI recruitment policies and practices, and attention to detail and accuracy. The Recruiter works with many systems to enhance efficiency in the recruitment process, including but not limited to, an applicant tracking system, reference system, job boards, and an HRIS.

This position is eligible for a combination of on-campus and remote work. Remote work must be performed at a location within the state of Iowa and comply with the remote work program and related policies.

Duties to include:

  • Responsible for the full-cycle recruitment activities including talent sourcing, screening, interviewing, and final candidate selection; provide expertise on hiring regulatory compliances, UI policies and division procedures; develop recruitment marketing plans and coordinate recruitment events; and engage and manage contract hires or employment through third parties as needed
  • Partner with HR Unit Representatives and hiring managers to assess talent requirements and advise on hiring strategies.
  • Strategically work to recruit and retain diverse staff in the division in support of the UI strategic plan and division priorities.
  • Represent the division by gaining an in-depth understanding of University values and culture.
  • Utilize a variety of tools/techniques (e.g., social media, advertising, direct contact, job fairs, and community outreach) to drive employer branding and recruitment marketing campaigns and events.
  • Educate, consult, and transfer knowledge of recruiting processes, diversity recruitment, interviewing skills and regulatory requirements to hiring departments.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Experience (typically minimum of 6 mo-1 year) performing human resources functions in an HR role or HR environment and/or recruiting/talent acquisition role, involving full-cycle recruitment.
  • Ability to use various channels to source candidates.
  • Knowledge of applicant tracking solutions, online sourcing and research tools.
  • Ability to think critically and independently problem solve.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and task oriented.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including polished phone, oral presentation, email and social media etiquette.
  • Demonstrated experience with or commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in work experience or in an academic environment.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Previous high-volume recruiting experience.
  • Experience beyond 1 year performing human resources functions in an HR role or HR environment and/or recruiting/talent acquisition role, involving full-cycle recruitment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite; primarily Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Working knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action policies.
  • Professional certification in human resources.
