Special Education Instructional Associate:

This position is responsible for supporting students with disabilities in both the special education and general education classroom settings. The associate carries out the accommodations, modifications, and interventions as determined by the student’s Individual Education Plan (IEP) as well as instructional plans provided by the classroom and special education teachers. The associate is also responsible for positively contributing to the overall educational environment within the school setting.

 

Work Center Associate:

The Work Center Associate is responsible for supporting students in 9th through 12th grade in a simulated work experience setting. The district’s Work Center utilizes the Practical Assessment Exploration System (PAES) to engage students with disabilities in practical simulated work experiences to build skills that will prepare them for future work experiences beyond the classroom. The associate in this position will maintain organizational systems within the space, manage the PAES work areas, ensure materials and resources are stocked appropriately, and collaborate with students and special education staff, enter and submit data to illustrate student progress. This position for the 2025-2026 school year will manage the Work Center in the morning and then provide support to students and classrooms in the afternoon, likely at the secondary level.

 

Pay and Benefits: 

• $16.18 per hour

$0.50 per hour added stipend for associates willing to provide specialized van route transportation.

• Must acquire Class D license through Iowa Department of Transportation.
