Development & Sponsorship Coordinator

Conceptualizes, plans, coordinates, and conducts development activities in alignment with ICNC’s strategic plan and organizational goals. Serves as a key member of ICNC’s development and marketing team, with a primary focus on cultivating corporate relationships and securing sponsorships. Strong organizational skills, accurate record keeping, and a willingness to learn quickly are essential. Must demonstrate a strong belief in ICNC’s mission. 

Acts as an ambassador for ICNC and brings leadership, creativity, and strong relationship-building skills to the role. Exercises independent judgment and decision-making abilities. This position involves access to confidential information and requires professionalism and discretion.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for managing and expanding both current and potential sponsorship relationships.
  • Proactively builds a portfolio by identifying and engaging new sponsorship prospects. Uses CRM best practices to keep all information accurate and up to date.
  • Cultivates strong community relationships on behalf of Indian Creek Nature Center. Serves as the primary point of contact for corporate sponsors and regularly shares updates on upcoming programs, events, and volunteer opportunities.
  • Learns about and is a knowledgeable user of Altru. Uses Altru to input information in the most accessible way, working closely with members of their team to achieve this. Uses data as a determining factor for campaign creation and management, including using appropriate data segmentation.
  • Assists with scheduling meetings with donors and prospects for the Development & Marketing Team and Executive Director.
  • Provides support for additional fundraising efforts as needed, including capital campaigns, endowment initiatives, and special projects.
  • Provides backup support for the Development and Membership Coordinator during vacation periods and high-volume donation times. 
  • Plans and carries out targeted outreach efforts to strengthen relationships that support ICNC’s mission and goals. Activities include, but are not limited to, leading tours and representing ICNC at corporate speaking engagements.
  • Working with the Director of Marketing and Development, plans and carries out donor and community cultivation events and activities. This includes annual stewardship events and events such as Trailside Tastings and Farm to Table dinners. 
  • Assists during assigned special events.
  • Other related assignments as necessary.

  • Knowledge of principles of development, strong writing and copy editing skills, and comprehensive knowledge of technology and social media.
  • Mastery of customer relationship management database a plus. 
  • If not already, will be trained in AFP Fundamentals of Fundraising. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field and/or three years work experience in development, marketing or communications. 
  • In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, a minimum of five years experience is required. Must have a valid driver’s license and provide proof of coverage and maintain personal automobile insurance coverage, including liability.

REPORTS TO: Director of Development & Marketing                           

HOURS OF POSITION: Generally weekdays with some evenings and weekends, as needed

REMOTE WORK: Up to 50% of work could be remote

SALARY RANGE: $45,000 annually, plus benefits

STATUS: Regular, Full Time, Exempt

GENERAL PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES: Sedentary to light work, primarily indoors.  Position involves constant sitting in an office setting, off-site travel, and sitting meetings (67-100%).  Constant (67-100%) talking and listening to people in person or over the telephone.  Viewing computer screens and other types of close visual work constantly (67-100%). Frequent (34-66%) walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing and pulling.  Frequent (34-66%) reaching, standing, grasping, finger dexterity.  Frequent (34-66%) travel off-site required to complete duties.

PRE-EMPLOYMENT SCREENINGS: ICNC conducts pre-employment background screenings prior to hire.
