GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for teaching Hot Glass I/II course in spring semester. The candidate will also have access to the glass studio facilities (which include furnaces, annealers, fusing and casting kilns, benches, lathe, lapidary wheels and belt sander)to create their personal work(outside of student lab times),

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
-
Provide effective instruction in the Hot Glass course including creating the syllabus ,course schedule, and ensuring that students meet required class outcomes.
Provide instructional support to students working in the glass studio spaces during scheduled student times.
This includes answering questions, providing guidance,and ensuring safety requirements are adhered to.
Collaborate with the full-time glass faculty member on supporting student needs,and with the 3D studio technician one equipment maintenance and safety measures
Perform other related work duties as assigned.

- Be able and willing to represent the College in the most positive manner with prospective, former and current students, clients, suppliers and the community we serve.
- Ability to work efficiently with the full-time glass faculty member, ceramics faculty, and studio technicians.
- Ability to instruct students in the art of glass- hot, warm, and cold working techniques.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Provide a positive and collaborative learning environment for students.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES WITH/WITHOUT REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION:

Position involves working in a classroom setting. Occasional (10-33%) sitting, pushing, pulling and grasping. Frequent (34-66%) reaching and viewing a computer and other types of close visual work. Constant (67-100%) standing, walking, repetitive motion, talking and hearing.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

- MA or MFA in Glass, or MA and MFA with 12 graduate credits in glass.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS:
- Experience in an education setting is preferred
- Experience in implementing and ensuring safety standards are met.
