Our locally owned and operated, upbeat dental office is looking for a competent and confident Registered Dental Hygienist. We are looking for a strong candidate to help our dental office deliver excellent patient care in a relaxed and comfortable environment.

A dental hygienist should be well-organized with great attention to detail. You should be able to follow instructions and respect dental office regulations. We want you to be skilled in providing thorough, ethical, and comfortable patient care. An excellent candidate will be self-motivated and take pride in helping deliver quality dental care in a professional manner. Excellent communication and teamwork are necessary to fit in with our experienced and friendly staff.

Schedule: 

• Monday–Thursday 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
• Friday 8:00 AM–12:00 PM

Requirements

• Must be licensed in the State of Iowa as a Registered Dental Hygienist

Responsibilities

• Gather pertinent data to aid in making an accurate periodontal diagnosis
• Perform preventive hygiene procedures and periodontal treatments
• Make quality radiographs and intraoral photographs
• Maintain accurate patient records
• Help patients understand their periodontal condition and the importance of treatment
• Communicate with other staff to improve the quality and efficiency of dentistry
• Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
• Keep the dental hygiene room clean and well-stocked
• Select and set up instruments, equipment, and materials needed
• Sterilize instruments according to regulations

Skills

• Ability to perform hygiene treatments such as dental prophylaxis as well as scaling and root planing
• Accurately measuring and gathering diagnostic data
• Ability to make diagnostic radiographs and diagnostic photos
• Understanding of health & safety regulations related to a dental office
• Good computer skills
• Excellent communication and people skills in a professional environment
• Attention to detail
• Well-organized, self-motivated, friendly, and reliable
