We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Environmental Aesthetics professional to support the daily upkeep and cleanliness of our school building. This role is essential in creating and maintaining a safe, healthy, and beautiful environment for students, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate is reliable, takes initiative, and takes pride in their work.

Hours: 

• September–May: 30 hours/week
• June–August: 20 hours/week

Key Responsibilities:

General Building Maintenance

• Ensure floors, furnishings, and fixtures are clean and in good condition
• Sanitize all restrooms daily
• Promptly remove and dispose of garbage and recyclables
• Refill soap, toilet paper, and paper towel supplies
• Monitor and report fire or safety hazards each day

Atrium Duties

• Set up lunch area (including water bins, milk and water at tables, utensils, napkins, plates)
• Clean tables and chairs after use
• Dust mop and wet mop floors Classroom Support
• Dust mop, wet mop, and vacuum as needed
• Clean sinks (if not already cleaned)
• Take out trash (only if not done the night before)

Additional Areas

• Clean and maintain the nurse’s station
• Perform daily cleaning in the kitchen (laundry, dishes, organization)
• Regularly clean windows, baseboards, cobwebs, gym, and walls
• Wipe down the exterior of trash cans
• Water indoor plants monthly

Team Collaboration:

• Work alongside and support floaters when available (dishes and laundry by 10:00 AM)
• Maintain a positive and professional relationship with CVMS staff

Expectations for CVMS Staff (for internal reference):

• Classrooms should have chairs stacked daily, garbage taken out, and counters wiped
• Leftover work must be placed on rugs
• Staff is responsible for building upkeep (dishes, bathrooms, laundry) after 12:30 PM

Ideal Candidate:

• Has experience in custodial, janitorial, or facilities work (preferred but not required)
• Is self-motivated, organized, and efficient
• Demonstrates care and attention to detail
• Can work independently and collaboratively
• Is physically able to lift, bend, and be on their feet for extended periods
