This position is based at the Cedar Rapids Main Campus. Regular working hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Occasional evenings, weekends, and work at other locations may be required based on operational needs.GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
The Test Center Supervisor provides operational leadership for Kirkwood's Test Center and is responsible for the effective delivery of testing services across all locations. The Supervisor oversees daily operations, supervises and develops staff, manages testing processes and resources, and ensures secure, accessible, and student-centered testing services.
Under the direction of the Learning Commons Director and working collaboratively with Learning Commons leadership, the Supervisor implements departmental goals, supports continuous improvement efforts, and contributes to assessment and planning initiatives. The Supervisor is responsible for hiring, training, scheduling, coaching, and evaluating staff; maintaining operational procedures and documentation; monitoring service trends and testing volumes; and recommending improvements to services, processes, and technology.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Provide operational leadership for testing services across all Test Center locations, county/regional centers, and approved third-party testing sites.
- Supervise, train, schedule, coach, and evaluate Test Center staff and foster a positive, collaborative team environment.
- Develop and maintain staffing plans and service schedules based on testing demand, operational needs, and student usage patterns.
- Implement and maintain operational procedures, documentation, and training materials to ensure consistency and compliance across locations.
- Ensure compliance with institutional policies, testing standards, academic integrity requirements, accessibility guidelines, and local, state, and federal regulations.
- Collaborate with faculty, Accommodation Services, and other campus departments to support testing accommodations and student success.
- Monitor testing operations, facility needs, technology, and equipment and coordinate resolution of operational issues.
- Maintain testing software, scheduling systems, and operational technologies to support efficient service delivery.
- Collect, analyze, and report testing utilization data, service metrics, and operational trends to support decision-making and continuous improvement efforts.
- Assess the effectiveness of Test Center services and implement improvements that enhance student experience, reduce barriers to testing, and improve operational efficiency.
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with faculty, staff, external testing organizations, and community partners.
- Manage confidential testing materials, student records, and secure information in accordance with institutional and industry standards.
- Quickly learn and use new procedures and technologies at a level of proficiency required for the duties of the position.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES WITH/WITHOUT REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION:

Position involves working in an office setting. Occasional (10-33%) standing, pushing, pulling and grasping. Frequent (34-66%) reaching and viewing a computer and other types of close visual work. Constant (67-100%) sitting, walking, repetitive motion, talking and hearing.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
-
- Bachelor’s Degree or Associate’s degree with two years of experience working with community college students or similar population
- Valid driver's license and the use of a personal vehicle and/or approval to operate a Kirkwood fleet vehicle.
- This position requires a valid driver's license and participation in continuous Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) monitoring. Your driving record will be verified initially and monitored on an ongoing basis as a condition of employment.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:
- Candidate needs to be eligible and maintain eligibility to proctor 3rd party exams such as Accuplacer, Pearson Vue and FAA exams.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS:
- Previous Test Center work experience
- Previous experience using RegisterBlast
- 2-3 Years as supervisor of a team
- Experience supporting students with accommodations
