UI Health Care Information Systems (HCIS) is seeking an experienced Senior Application Developer to work in partnership to assist community health care providers and related staff with UI CareLink enrollment, training, updates and technical assistance. This position will also work with HCIS teams to design and/or modify components of complex clinical application systems.

UI Health Care Information Systems (HCIS) is seeking an experienced Senior Application Developer to work in partnership to assist community health care providers and related staff with UI CareLink enrollment, training, updates and technical assistance. This position will also work with HCIS teams to design and/or modify components of complex clinical application systems.
Position Responsibilities:
- Act as the UI CareLink application development leader. Ensure coordination of HCIS efforts to fulfill the needs of the UI CareLink program and meet the overall goals of the UIHC. Follow standard HCIS change management protocols.
- Maintain a strong understanding of internal and external system workflows, implement new system functionality, serve as a Subject Matter Expert, partner with development team on new functionality and validating UI CareLink workflows on behalf of the customers.
- Lead UI CareLink Core Team and Executive Oversight Committee meetings serving as the voice of UI CareLink users. Represent UI CareLink at UIHC/CC user group and leadership meetings.
- Build relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate site enrollment and analyze external organization structure to determine appropriate access and security.
- Provide demonstrations of the UI CareLink application. Provide UI CareLink system training. Maintain UI CareLink customer facing educational materials.
- Triage customer support calls and emails from UI CareLink users 8 to 5 Monday through Friday. Provide some 24x7 on-call system support.

Experience Requirements
- Experience in the development, configuration and/or support of applications used by non-technical customers to support and enhance healthcare workflows processes. Typically, 5-7 years for a Senior Application Developer role.
- Experience working with application owners and/or vendors to define system requirements, integration requirements and understand business needs.
- Ability to work independently with a strong focus on customer service and acting as the primary point-of-contact for customer relationship concerns.
- Experience with basic project management as demonstrated by the ability to simultaneously lead multiple small to medium projects and initiatives within a complex environment, managing customer relations, project deadlines, escalation, resolution and program delivery.
- A valid driver’s license and ability to meet UI Fleet Safety requirements.
- Demonstrated ability communicating technical information effectively to technical and non-technical staff at the verbal, written and presentation levels.
- Demonstrated job-related experience and/or commitment to diversity in the work/academic environment.
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience with any of the following workflows: care coordination, scheduling, referrals, ambulatory/inpatient nursing or physician documentation.
- Epic certification related but not limited to the following: EpicCare Link, EpicCare Ambulatory, EpicCare Inpatient, Epic HIM Release of Information.
- Experience authoring training materials and conducting training sessions for groups of various sizes.
- Strong problem solving and process improvement skills for managing service delivery, including developing workflows and new business processes.
- Experience providing on-call EHR support in an ambulatory or hospital setting.
- Proven ability to write application test scripts
