Under the supervision of the Crisis Advocacy and Mediation Coordinator, provide crisis intervention, short-term mediations, advocacy, case management, and collaborative problem solving through a strength-based approach.
Characteristic Duties:
- Provide short-term crisis intervention services to individuals, families, and community partners in office, community, and home settings
- Provide ongoing support and advocacy to a caseload of 10-15 young people and families who have experienced victimization
- Assist youth and families in accessing other community resources by making appropriate referrals, networking and advocating on their behalf
- Assist youth and families in identifying barriers and navigating systems
- Partner with community agencies to problem solve social/emotional/behavioral issues
- Maintain case files, completing required paperwork, case notes, and reports on time
- Work within a team approach collaborating with the Counseling Program staff and other UAY staff, through participation in weekly staff meetings, case management meetings and consultation with staff
Related Duties:
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the Program Director and Program Coordinator.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of resources, services, and opportunities available to youth and families.
Qualifications:
We believe in the power of diversity; people of color and LGBTQ+ individuals are encouraged to apply. Minimum of 3-year prior experience working with youth or in a youth services setting. Additional consideration for those with a degree (not required) in human services, social work, counseling or a related field, or 5 years prior experience; also, persons who are bi-lingual in Spanish, French, and/or English.
Must have a valid driver's license.
