GENERAL JOB SUMMARY: 
Under minimal supervision, the nursing adjunct instructor is responsible for fostering student learning in the clinical areas of nursing and general health courses for the Nursing department. The nursing adjunct instructor is responsible for structuring and supervising the learning experiences of students in the partnering clinical agency. The faculty must possess an Iowa Nursing License.

    • Grade all student assignments reliably and in accordance with Kirkwood Clinical Coordinator and Course Lead guidance.
    • Attend Fall Faculty Skill Competency Boot Camp annually. (Attendance required for continued employment).
    • Attend Spring Faculty Orientation annually. (Attendance required for continued employment).
    • Attend course-specific orientations as scheduled each semester employed.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES WITH/WITHOUT REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION:

The position involves working in an office setting. Occasional (10-33%) standing, pushing, pulling and grasping. Frequent (34-66%) reaching and viewing a computer and other types of close visual work.  Constant (67-100%) sitting, walking, repetitive motion, talking and hearing.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have current RN Iowa License with two years experience in clinical nursing. 
 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS:
  • MSN preferred or have BSN and make annual progress toward the attainment of a master's degree in nursing or an applicable field.
