ESM is a locally owned CNC contract manufacturing company that has been providing quality high precision parts for over 100 years to several industries which include Aerospace, Electronics, Agricultural, Scientific, Medical, and Industrial.

Due to recent retirements and continued growth, ESM is looking for qualified individuals for the positions of CNC Mill or Lathe Machinist for first or second shift at our modern climate-controlled facility in Marion, Iowa.

Our diverse customer base and detailed nature of work requires the following general qualifications:

General Employee Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• The ability to lift more than 65 pounds unrestricted.
• Works as part of a team and assists with training of others as directed.
• Communicates and works with a positive, professional approach.
• Follows through and meets commitments.
• Follows safety procedures, protocols, policies.
• While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand up, walk, bend, stretch, lift and reach most of the day during an 8-hour shift.
• Work efficiently.  Maintain, clean, and organize work area.

Additional Position Descriptions & Responsibilities:

• Must have a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and attention to detail.
• Able to work well in a fast-paced environment.
• Need good verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Mechanical Aptitude.
• Familiarity with interpreting blueprints & GD&T.
• Familiar with measuring instruments such as a Micrometer, Calipers, Depth Micrometers, Optical Comparator, Bore Gauges, Pin Gauges, Thread Ring gauges, Thread Plug Gauges, Height Gauges etc.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Perform set-ups and changeovers.
• Create and update set-up sheets and document set-ups.
• Programming in MasterCam is a positive, but not a requirement.
• Program G-Code familiarity.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Details:

• Hours may fluctuate with workload.
• First Shift Machinist Full-Time hours are generally 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
• Second Shift Machinist Full-Time hours are generally 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM
• Overtime may be required as needed.
