Data Entry - Product Information Associate

The Product Information Associate will be responsible for the initial phases of processing products for sale in our warehouse. Associates in this position will unpack cases of product and sort items by style/type as well as reviewing product quality and making grading decisions on disposition of product. Associates will use a hand scanner and portable label printer to receive the item into inventory or route for further processing. They are also responsible for creating product listings in the BHFO inventory system. Each listing must tie back to the proper BOL to maintain inventory integrity. The Product Information Associate will reference product tags and enter product details into a database. The associate must use independent judgement as well as product guidelines to determine appropriate product categories and word choice. At times, the associate will need to enter additional information including measurements, key words, fashion terminology, and information about flaws or defects. Associates must be accurate and detailed in their work. Information entered will appear as the product description for online sales. Product Information Associates will use a handheld scanner, computer, and other equipment to create the product listings. Associates must work safely and efficiently and should be flexible to handle changes in direction and product types. This position requires frequent bending, lifting, reaching, standing, and fine motor skills.

Essential Duties:

  • Open boxes of product and remove the product safely.
  • Inspect each product individually. Use fingers to feel for flaws/damages and sight to look for flaws/damages.
  • Sort and/or hang product based on product style, type, flaw, and other factors.
  • Use approved resources to carefully clean stains or marks on products that may be removable without further damage to the product.
  • Count items to verify correct inventory allocations.
  • Review products for and remove security tags.
  • Coordinate items as needed to ensure a complete product (e.g. suits, dresses with belts, etc.)
  • Maintain the integrity of the BOL and manifest by keeping items in their shipment category.
  • Repackage and fold items as directed.
  • Use a handheld steamer to remove wrinkles from garments, thus improving their presentation.
  • Use a portable label printer to print item barcodes and affix to the proper products.
  • Record data accurately into computer database.
  • Identify and describe all product types such as apparel, home goods, shoes, accessories, etc.
  • Input product specifications such as measurements, fabric types, and key words.
  • Review product listing for key information and accuracy, including correct spelling and proper grammar usage.
  • Use a handheld scanner to scan items and update quantities or move forward for further processing.
  • Use a label printer to print item barcodes and affix to the proper products.
  • Monitor products for tags and adhere a BHFO tag if none exists.
  • Utilize the desktop scale to weigh all products.
  • Monitor products for quality concerns during data entry and notate on the item and in the listing as appropriate.
  • Return items to appropriate categories and areas after completing the Product Listing process.
  • Work efficiently and accurately to achieve daily production goals set by the supervisor.
  • Maintain a clean and well stocked work area to promote efficiency and decrease risk of product damage.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience, and Certifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience using a computer.
  • Prior warehouse experience is preferred.
  • Strong and accurate data entry skills with the ability to type 30 WPM.


We are currently offering two Full-Time shift options.  We have a day shift, Monday through Friday, from 7:00AM - 3:30PM. We are also hiring a temporary second shift, Sunday through Thursday, from 4:00PM - 12:30AM. This shift pays a 30% shift differential above the normal base rate.  Second shift team members will go to first shift once the shift ends (end of March).
