The Warehouse Associate receives, stores, and issues equipment, materials, supplies, and compiles stock records of items. This worker sorts, or weighs incoming articles to verify receipt of items on requisition, examines stock to verify conformance to specifications, stores articles in bins, on floor or on shelves, according to identifying information, such as style, size or type of material, fills orders or issues supplies from stock, prepares periodic, special or perpetual inventory of stock, and requisitions articles to fill incoming orders. This worker also compiles reports on use of stock handling equipment, adjustments of inventory counts and stock records, damage to stock, location changes, and refusal of shipments, may mark identifying codes, figures, or letters on articles, may distribute stock among production workers, keeping records of material issued, may make adjustments or repairs to articles carried in stock, and may cut stock to site to fill order.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Interpret data such as material availability, supply chain due dates, and distribution, supplier management, and transportation.

  • Receive and count stock items, and record data manually or using computer.

  • Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in stockrooms, warehouses, or storage.

  • Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock, and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors.

  • Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, supply rooms, or other areas.

  • Mark stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment.

  • Maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas in order to ensure compliance with safety regulations.

  • Determine proper storage methods, identification, and stock location based on turnover, environmental factors, and physical capabilities of facilities.

  • Keep records on the use and/or damage of stock or stock handling equipment.

  • Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage.

 

Requirements:


  • Min 3 years of experience in a warehouse setting

  • Solid experience assembling and filling orders to be shipped to customers / orders to be issued to manufacturing

  • Experience preparing shipping documentation

  • Experience reporting/recording any discrepancies after examination of incoming shipments
