Assistant Information Technology Specialist

A defined career path exists. Based on experience, the successful candidate will be hired into one of two levels of professional opportunity: Assistant Information Technology Specialist or Information Technology Specialist and will be given the opportunity to progress through the career path by achieving defined performance objectives once employed.

 

Impact & Responsibilities:

  • Primary duties for Assistant Information Technology Specialist: Installs, configures, maintains, and supports client device technology across campus including desktops, laptops, tablets, printers, classroom technology, and software.
  • Serves as a client-device and technology expert for campus; creates and maintains a client-device and technologies inventory in order to better inform clients.
  • Manages or administers tools and systems in use by Client Service in the pursuit of providing excellent service to campus.
  • The position will support College of Business, Business & Community Services, and College of Social and Behavioral Sciences. 
  • Additional duties required for Information Technology Specialist position.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree plus at least one year experience (or An Associate's degree plus at least four years of experience may be substituted)
  • At least one year of experience (with bachelor's degree) or at least four years of experience (with associate's degree) in user support, computer troubleshooting and support, and client device management in an enterprise environment required.
  • Demonstrated excellence in communication and customer service also required.

Spring 2022 graduates will be considered. Degree must be conferred prior to start date.

 

Preferred: Experience working in higher education environment.
