Imaging Technologist – CT Radiology

The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics Department of Radiology is seeking Imaging Technologists to perform and teach specialized CT procedures utilizing complex imaging equipment with close patient monitoring during exam.

Duties Include:
•    Perform and teach specialized imaging procedures utilizing CT imaging equipment with close patient monitoring during exam. This includes independent operation with minimal physician supervision. 
•    Perform CT procedures using a variety of complex imaging and patient monitoring equipment.
•    Has knowledge of and applies CT safety precautions to minimize or eliminate risks to patients, personnel, and equipment.
•    Has knowledge and understanding of key Service Excellence principles for interaction with patients and staff.
•    Establish rapport with patient and provide information about how the exam is performed and what is required of the patient.
•    Maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students, and the public.
•    Use proper septic techniques including skin preparation and IV placement.
•    Prepare and administer contrast material to patients under radiologist’s supervision as required.
