Imaging Technologist – BI Radiology

The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics department of Radiology is seeking an Imaging Technologist with primary duties in Breast Imaging. Perform and teach specialized breast imaging procedures utilizing complex imaging equipment with close patient monitoring during exam. To perform a variety of mammographic procedures and assist in invasive procedures, Machines QA and participate in teaching students.

Duties Include:
•    Provide instruction to trainees, students, and other medical staff on operation and safety precautions.
•    Consult with the interpreting physician regarding the mammographic exam findings.
•    Document exam information as required by departmental standards
•    Evaluate images of mammographic exams and determine if the exam is of diagnostic quality.
•    Assist with and provide mammographic guidance for invasive procedures.
•    Provide information and instructions to patient, patient’s family, or others, regarding the nature of requested diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures.
•    Perform patient care techniques including skin preparation, monitoring, and recording.
•    Maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students, and the public.
•    Has knowledge and understanding of key Service Excellence principles for interaction with patients and staff.
