Salesforce Solution Architect

This position is responsible for setting standards, guidelines and procedures for our Salesforce platform using industry best practices, designing, overseeing configuration and development initiatives of Salesforce for a wide variety of business needs. This is a key member of GreatAmerica team to ensure smooth and efficient implementation and integration between technical and functional system requirements using Salesforce.

Essential Functions

  • Functional Core
    • Provide functional architecture strategy and guidance for all Salesforce rollouts
    • Translate business requirements into well architected solutions that best leverage Salesforce
    • Reviews functional design, logical architecture and integration design for Salesforce initiatives
    • Lead technical detailed design sessions
    • Provide detailed architecture design and document detailed technical solutions and analysis aligned with business objectives
    • Perform fit-gap analysis between business requirements and Salesforce capabilities
    • Responsible for matching business process and automation requirements to the capabilities of Salesforce, including, but not limited to, managed and unmanaged packages, complex data model, integration, role hierarchy, sharing and security model
    • Articulate to the stakeholders the value of recommended solutions and approach
    • Set standards and procedures based on industry best practices for design, configuration and development on Salesforce
    • Provide oversight and governance for Salesforce Administrators and Developers involved in the initiatives
    • Assist in prototyping, troubleshooting, identifying dependencies and issues, and outlining mitigation plan against any risk for all Salesforce rollouts
    • Be able to train, mentor and oversee a group of Salesforce Administrators and Developers on the team
    • Lead code reviews during projects to ensure quality and appropriate standards and procedures are followed
    • Help provide input for training materials and programs for the Salesforce Administrators and Developers in the roll out of new or enhanced Salesforce capability
    • Answer qualified support calls from users
    • Ability to take all perspectives into account for a given project
    • Proactively seek out new Salesforce features and capabilities and works with GreatAmerica’s Salesforce community to develop and execute a roadmap for adding these features for the organization.
    • Lead initiatives to foster the Salesforce community by sharing new features and capabilities and best practices of Salesforce platform to the stakeholders.

Position Qualifications

For this position: Creative, Detail-Oriented, Goal-Oriented, Systems Analysis, and Technical Aptitude     

Education: Bachelor’s degree required in Information Systems or equivalent of at least 15 years practical relevant work experience. Must have Salesforce Advanced Admin and App Builder certificates and kept them up to date. Technical Architect certification preferred.


  • Must have 12+ years' experience in developing technology solutions
  • Must have an expert level understanding and 8+ years of directly working with of the Salesforce product suite, including Sales, Service, Community, Marketing, Financial and Community Clouds
  • Must have an extensive knowledge with platform authentication patterns (SAML, SSO, OAuth)
  • Must have an extensive knowledge of data integration tools and experience integrating Salesforce with different business systems
  • Must have a strong understanding of environment management, release management, code versioning best practices, and deployment methodologies
  • Must have an extensive experience with platform security capabilities (TLS, SSL)
  •  Must have an expert level of knowledge in configuration as well as in declarative customization and APEX development
  • Must have 8+ years' experience in Salesforce Architecture and consulting within the Salesforce ecosystem
  • Must have an extensive experience with data migrations from third party systems to Salesforce
  • Must have a proven desire to continue to grow their knowledge inside the Salesforce ecosystem

Computer Skills: Expert knowledge of MS Office products and Design & Development best practices preferred
