Position Summary:
To assist with the design, implementation and operational support of departmental AV systems that will be implemented at UIHC. Work very closely with U of I D&C/ Capital Management, AV contractors, Construction Trades during project implementation and provide daily support of installed systems. AV systems will include conference/meeting rooms, event spaces, Interactive Patient Care System, Digital Signage System, Patient Observation System, CATV / IPTV delivery, Centralized Clock system and other supported AV systems. ***This is not strictly an IT desktop position.

Salary: $48,500 to commensurate – 4A

Education Required
Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
 
Experience Requirements
  • Professional Support experience (typically 1-3 years) providing technology support in a healthcare or meeting/conference room environment.
  • Working knowledge of A/V control programs, touch panels, and digital signal processors
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in order to communicate effectively with a diverse population of technical and non-technical staff.
  • Working knowledge of audio and video equipment, and/or video conferencing, wireless technology, computers, televisions, LCD projectors, cameras and telephones to include set up and troubleshooting.
  • Experience supporting computers and software in an Enterprise environment
  • Physical ability to occasionally move and transport equipment up to 50lbs.
  • Must meet the University of Iowa Fleet Services program rules and regulations, due to the ability to drive University vehicles.
 
Highly Desired Qualification
  • Experience with technical process documentation.
 
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with Windows 10 and Office Suite
  • Familiarity with Enterprise level A/V management software application in order to actively monitor all A/V components
  • Experience with wireless networking, wireless security, peripheral hardware (USB & serial), and/or computer networking.  
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with a strong customer service focus..
  • Working knowledge of CATV RF distribution and IPTV delivery
  • Experience supporting videoconferencing technology
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and Visio for creation of Scope of Work.
  • Experience using an incident management or ticketing system
