Application Developer, Epic Resolute Analyst

Position Summary:
UI Health Care Information Systems (HCIS) is seeking an Application Developer to act as an analyst in the design and/or modification and configuration of complex revenue cycle applications. This position is responsible for in-depth knowledge of assigned Epic System software related to Resolute billing applications; routinely performs in-depth analysis of system configuration and technical issues associated with the use of Epic software; is responsible for design, build, testing, and maintaining Epic System software solutions. This person will work in partnership with the Patient Financial Services, Epic, Subject Matter Experts and Health Care Information Systems to support strategic planning, daily operations and assist with technology planning in an effort to maximize user and organizational effectiveness.
Position Responsibilities: 
  • Work in partnership with HCIS, Patient Financial Services and other related personnel to assess needs and assist with setting IT project priorities.
  • Support operational and IT resources through the design, build, implementation, validation and maintenance tasks as required to assist with standard and customized needs. Support system integration efforts and work to optimize existing setup.
  • Develop an operational understanding of critical systems, workflows and policies. Participate in the design and testing of new workflows. Participate in the restructuring of existing workflows as required to enhance application abilities and integration and meet regulatory standards.
  • Maintain an operational understanding of the systems, tools and policies associated with Healthcare revenue cycle regulatory/governing bodies.
  • Maintain skills in data manipulation and reporting. Be able to work effectively with non-IT staff to gather reporting requirements. Generate and maintain application level reports. Utilize Excel as needed to process data and produce reports. Validate all data produced independently and with subject matter experts. Provide data to the internal and external reporting sources.
  • Provide overnight/weekend on-call support and weekday help desk support as assigned by HCIS.

Position Qualifications:
Education Required
Bachelor’s in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and related application development/support experience.  
Experience Requirements
  • Experience in the development, configuration and/or support of applications used by non-technical customers to support and enhance business processes, typically 3-5 years including experience with programming tools and a comprehensive understanding of database technologies  
  • Experience working with application owners and/or vendors to define system requirements, integration requirements and understand business needs
  • Demonstrated ability with converting business requirements into functional/technical specifications for complex integrated systems build
  • Demonstrated ability using tools for customizing vendor application software
    ·Demonstrated ability communicating technical information effectively to technical and non-technical staff at the verbal, written and presentation levels
    ·Demonstrated job-related experience and/or commitment to diversity in the work/academic environment
Desired Qualifications
·Familiarity with healthcare revenue cycle practices
·Epic certification related but not limited to the following: Resolute PB, Resolute HB, Resolute HB Claims/Remittance, Resolute PB Claims/Remittance, Charge Router
·Experience collaborating with technical and non-technical staff on system implementation projects
·Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with basic project management
·Proven ability to write application test scripts
·Experience with PERL or similar scripting languages
