The University of Iowa Department of Public Safety Key & Access is looking for a Locksmith. This position is responsible for security of all building door, safes, vaults, files and locking devices, and grand master key systems through installation, maintenance and repair of a wide range of locking mechanisms and related hardware.

Duties Include:
•    Installs, adjusts, recombinates, services, and repairs all types of locking mechanisms, strikes, doors, and closers (may include electronic hardware and security systems). 
•    Cut and issues keys, maintains records.
•    Develops and uses Master Keying systems
•    Read and interprets floor plans, as well as hardware and key schedules.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm
Location: University Capitol Centre

Minimum Eligibility Requirements
Four years of experience in the trade, including apprenticeship.

Desirable Qualifications
•    Ability to maintain a professional and respectable demeanor with staff and customers that fosters good relations
•    Ability to adapt, prioritize, and organize multiple tasks
•    Intermediate to proficient computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•    Prior customer service experience
