Facilities Director

Johnson County

Johnson County Board of Supervisors seeks Facilities Director to manage activities concerned with operations, management and maintenance of eight County facilities including renewable energy systems, parking lots and ramps, and other outdoor areas.  This department head position is responsible for the maintenance, safety and cleanliness of physical building structures and grounds keeping while ensuring sustainability in the management and maintenance of all County facilities. 

Requirements:

  • Ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and communications skills and lead their team to demonstrate a commitment to customer service.  
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and budget effectively.
  • Within six months of hire, must reside in Johnson County or within a twenty-mile radius of the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office.
  • Must have six years of progressively responsible experience in complex facility operations, management, and maintenance with three years of supervisory experience and a Bachelor’s degree in facilities management or closely related field OR an equivalent combination of experience and training. 
  • Professional credential as a Facilities Management Professional (FMP) or Certified Facilities Manager (CFM) preferred.
