Job Information:

The University of Iowa department of Facilities Management is seeking a highly motivated individual for the position of Electrician – High Voltage in our Utilities unit.

Under general supervision, applies knowledge, skills and abilities at the journey level to install, maintain, and repair high voltage (over 600 volts) electrical distribution systems, transformers, generators, switchgear, and metering and control systems.

Minimum qualifications: Four years’ experience in the trade, including apprenticeship, of which two years must be working with high voltage (over 600 volts); State of Iowa Electrician’s license; and valid driver’s license and ability to meet University of Iowa Fleet safety standards.

Minimum Salary: $51,896 (a higher starting pay rate may be requested based on exceptional qualifications).  We offer a generous benefits package, including 12 days paid vacation per year to start, plus paid sick leave.  Complete information regarding the full benefits package may be viewed at:
