Job Information:

The Department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation, The University of Iowa Health Care, is seeking a Research Assistant to contribute to the success of the department’s research endeavors by conducting clinical orthopedic research with a focus on Total Joint Arthroplasty.

This position will perform research activities based upon protocols developed by the principal investigator of the research project or other department research staff, working closely with orthopedic total joint arthroplasty faculty on their projects.
The position may require some evenings and weekends during deadline season.

Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Master’s degree in a science or public health field desired.

Experience Requirements: 1-3 years of experience conducting research, experience working with statistics, experience working with large database datasets, proficient in MS Office computer software applications, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desired Qualifications: Working knowledge of University policies, procedures and regulations; experience with coordinating randomized controlled trials and the monitoring/reporting associated with those studies; attention to detail, ability to multi-task, organize priorities, and work independently to meet deadlines; ability to work well within a cohesive team; and familiarity with Patient Reported Outcome Measures and related research.
