Job Information:

University of Iowa Health Care, Department of Internal Medicine, has an opening for a Research Specialist to provide support for research in the fields of exercise physiology, cardiovascular physiology, and sensory biology by conducting experiments, collecting and analyzing results and performing operational duties associated with the laboratory (bench and field), animal or human research. Key areas of responsibilities include conducting research activities/experiments, collecting, analyzing and summarizing data, preparing reports, presenting findings at scientific meetings in the forms of talks and posters, contributing to manuscripts/publications, administrative and project management, facilities and equipment management, and supervision/staffing.

A Master’s degree is required.
3-5 years of related experience in the fields of exercise physiology, cardiovascular physiology, and/or sensory biology is required.
Experience in the techniques of rodent exercise and strength training, as well as rodent pain models and rodent pain testing is required.
Experience with software programs including Word, Excel, Prism, Photoshop, Endnote Illustrator, SPSS, Seqbuilder, and Megalign is required.
Knowledge of University of Iowa Health Care policies and procedures is desirable.
