NRG Sales Lighting & Controls

NRG Sales Lighting and Controls, a local Manufacturers’ Representative, is seeking self-motivated sales professional to market and sell Commercial Lighting and Lighting Control products to our Eastern Iowa wholesale market. Customer base will consist of Architects, Engineers, Distributors and Design Build Contractors. The candidate should be an excellent communicator, have an outgoing personality and have a technical ability to read, or be trained to read, and understand construction plans. The ability to identify opportunities and solve problems is also required. Construction industry experience is preferred, but not required. A complete list of responsibilities is below.

  • Service existing accounts and new accounts, help obtain orders, and establish new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential sales outlets and other trade factors.
  • Adjust content of sales presentations by studying products and applying them to specific customer needs and wants.
  • Focus sales efforts by studying existing and potential volume of customers and continue to support them with literature, samples and technical support.
  • Help facilitate pricing for customers for daily work as well as project work.
  • Keep management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports,                weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses.
  • Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules.
  • Recommend changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.
  • Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports and making recommendations to management.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies.
  • Reviewing existing product lines to continue to support customers with their lighting needs is also essential.
  • Contribute to team effort by helping inside support as well as servicing our customers the way you would like to be serviced.
