Transportation ICX Sales Team Leader

The Transportation ICX Sales Team Leader has the primary responsibilities of managing the day-to-day operations, client satisfaction and performance of the team members supporting the ICX business segment. The position is also responsible for making outbound call and receiving inbound calls to quote and onboard Contract Carriers.



  • Team Leader Responsibilities:
    • Provide leadership and direction for your team. 
    • Receive incoming calls from Contract Carriers interested in purchasing business coverages for their contracts with 3rd Party Logistics Providers.Provide outstanding customer service as well as gather information for the quote process. (inbound)
    • Consult callers on programs available to them and other programs TrueNorth offers when applicable.
    • Make Outbound calls to Contract Carriers (lists provided) to quote and bind insurance products.
    • Responsible for the accuracy of the work of the employees under their direction and the quality of service provided to our clients.
    • Assign and direct the workflow of team members, and coordinate with other functional areas inside and outside the department.
    • Set, train and monitor quality and quantity standards for the team to include Professional Standard Review, Data Integrity, etc.
    • Monitor processes and procedures for efficiency and innovate and implement changes for the team where and when appropriate to improve efficiency and client experience.
    • Coach and coordinate the development of team members.
    • Continuously communicate with each team member, promoting and encouraging a positive team atmosphere. Address team issues promptly.Maintain a file of documentation for each employee, give appropriate feedback, counseling and conduct 1:1 meetings on a regular basis.
    • Responsible for staffing processes for your team, to include but not limited to; hiring, documenting performance, maintain and approve time off ADP, and conducting performance reviews and the merit review process.
    • Continuously seek to identify opportunities and solutions that allow for more effective and efficient delivery of top-quality client experience in relation to new services, coverages, technologies, etc. 
  • Backfill Team Member Support as Needed:
    • Assist Operations and Sales leaders with Market Strategy as it relates to team capabilities and client feedback
    • Prepare renewals of insurance and stewardship reviews
    • Receive, document, and process all insured requests for service (certs, changes, auto id’s etc.)
    • Review, document, and process all carrier requests
    • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with clients, both internal and external
    • Seek opportunities and take steps to increase knowledge of industry, regulatory requirements, tools and resources available to assist clients 
  • Maintain confidentiality of client and company information 
  • Increase industry and job knowledge as measured by attendance at continuing education, attaining or updating designations, and participation in other agency training offerings
  • Perform other duties as assigned appropriate to the position 


  • A college degree or equivalent work experience 
  • Minimum of five years Transportation related experience; last mile and home delivery background and experience is preferred
  • Customer service experience a must.
  • Insurance licensing required within 90 days of employment and must be maintained annually.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.  Specifically intermediate WORD skills and EXCEL skills, Outlook and basic PowerPoint skills

  • Prior supervisory experience is preferred
