Sales Operations Specialist

Iowa City, IA

Job Information:

IDx is looking to hire a Sales Operations Specialist to be part of a founding sales, marketing, and go-to-market (GTM) team to launch what will likely be the first of its kind image based fully autonomous, AI-based disease detection device ever cleared by the FDA for use in the front lines of healthcare. The work of the Sales Operations Specialist and flagship go-to-market team will be instrumental in determining the commercial success of IDx and the realization of our mission: to transform the quality, accessibility and affordability of global healthcare through automation of medical diagnosis and treatment.

What we are looking for:
IDx is looking for exceptional individuals to lead IDx’s entry into the US healthcare market. The Sales Operations Specialist will play a centralized role in coordinating sales activities across IDx’s go to market operations including direct sales, marketing, logistics, customer engagement, product demonstrations, product implementations, customer support and customer service. You will have responsibility and authority in supporting IDx’s Key Account Management team and other distributors in preparing and presenting IDx’s value proposition throughout all stages of a high value, complex, medical and technology based, enterprise solution sale cycle that targets Integrated Health Systems (hospital systems) as well as individual physicians. You will also have responsibility in interfacing with the IDx marketing team and their campaigns and initiatives, as well as direct interaction—electronically, over the phone, and/or in person—with IDx customers and prospect customers.

As part of our inaugural go-to-market efforts, the Key Account Management team will also have responsibility for designing, building out, and deploying the systems and processes that ensure maximum efficiency and continuous improvement in our long-term customer facing operations. For this position, IDx is especially looking for a process and systems oriented person with an interest in sales. You will build, pilot, and establish the procedures, values and approach that will be the cornerstone of IDx’s commercial success--and the fabric of our customer-facing business operations. You will be comprehensively exposed to and have a hand in all aspects of professional sales.

Our Sales Operations Specialist will inform, advise, and have the full support of IDx Executive leadership in advancing our commercial success. At IDx, you will have the opportunity to work alongside some of the most accomplished people on the planet. Please see the following link for more on the IDx Leadership team you will be working with:

In this role, as in all roles at IDx, you will share in the returns of the commercial success that you and your team helps drive. IDx offers a fair salary & benefits package, augmented with an equity stake in the company. IDx is a private company with substantial funding and a deep product pipeline—your work will be instrumental in driving IDx’s long term value.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to:
  • Understand, implement, and leverage technology based sales tools including CRM technology, automated marketing tools, and other systems and processes to enable maximum customer satisfaction and operational effectiveness.
  • Own interaction with the IDx sales team, customers, and partners. You will frequently interface with a wide range of contacts in this role, including on an international basis.
  • Master the enterprise sales cycle
  • Understand and communicate the IDx value proposition through proposals, contracts, ROI calculators, and other materials that you will help develop and distribute.
  • Drive customer satisfaction by helping to manage the order fulfillment process, product deployment and implementation logistics, software license management, and direct customer support inquiries.
  • Drive IDx growth by receiving, responding to, and assigning follow up to direct inquiries from prospect customers and supporting marketing in lead campaign design and management.
  • Build sales processes toward replicability and scalability.
  • Work within external constraints. IDx is a medical device company. We put patient safety above all else and are fully compliant with all medical device directives and global regulations.
  • Relentlessly persist. Everything we do is being done for the first time, requiring added thought, consideration, determination, and patience.
  • Commit to process. IDx is a data driven company. We record, track, measure, and report back on KPIs and metrics that inform and drive IDx’s performance and continuous improvement. You will help design and implement the systems and designs that support this.
  • Work in a fast paced and quickly changing early stage environment—for real.
  • Learn and grow. You will be put in an immensely dynamic and challenging role, and at the same time given an immediate position of leadership, the opportunity to make a difference, and the opportunity to grow into any of a number of roles that appeal to you as IDx grows.
  • Take responsibility, while supporting others in their roles, as we all work toward a common goal.

  • Desire to be a sales professional
  • Proven track record of success in designing and implementing new processes and systems
    • Previous sales support or experience in healthcare a plus, but not required.
  • Eagerness and interest in leveraging technology for system level productivity
  • Relentless passion for meeting and exceeding customer needs and expectations.
  • 4-year Bachelor’s Degree. Science and/or technology preferred but not required
  • Personal commitment to excellence
  • Exceptional professional presence, practices, and communication skills—in writing, over the phone, in conference calls, and in person, including customer presentations, meetings, and conferences and tradeshows

  • The position will be out of IDx headquarters in Iowa City, Iowa.
    • IDx office has free parking and our average commute is less than 10 minutes.
