Contractor Risk Advisor

Job Information:

TrueNorth, an Insurance and Financial Strategies firm headquarted in downtown Cedar Rapids, IA is currently seeking a Contractor Risk Advisor to join our Transportation team. The Contractor Risk Advisor's primary responsibility is to handle inbound and/or outbound calls from/to individual owner operators and other eligible purchasers, regarding the sale and service of voluntary benefits.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Receive incoming calls from individuals interested in purchasing voluntary benefits.
  • Place outbound calls to individuals from supplied call lists.
  • Consult callers on voluntary benefit products available to them and cross sell other products available as members of Truckers Service Association, where applicable.
  • Take current customer questions on purchased voluntary benefit programs and elevate questions to appropriate parties when needed.
  • Answer phones in a professional and timely manner to ensure customers are serviced appropriately.
  • Maintain a positive attitude, even when dealing with difficult customers.
  • Maintain quality customer service with clients on a daily basis by providing consistent, timely and accurate service.
  • Process applications over the phone, record calls, and enter applicant information into participation management systems.
  • Process changes and cancellations in enrollments.
  • Complete paperwork associated with clients on a timely basis as established by agency standards.
  • Maintain and follow written procedures; complete all procedures as outlined on the “TrueChoices Processes- Index
  • Assist in the execution of marketing material to available applicants.
  • Make outbound calls to available applicants during open enrollment periods, when approved by group manager.
  • Serve as backup for other lines of business within the Truckers Service Team.

Education & Experience:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • College degree or equivalent combination of training and work experience preferred.
  • Prior sales experience preferred.
  • Life & Health insurance licensing required within 90 days of employment.
  • Must also have experience in Microsoft Office. Specifically intermediate Word, basic Excel and PowerPoint skills.
