Bookstore Lead Cashier

Job Information:

Provide exemplary customer service through positive communication, meeting the customer needs, maintaining a clean, neat, and inviting shopping experience while having an upbeat attitude. Assist students, staff, and faculty with purchases of textbooks, educational materials, and general merchandise while reflecting a positive image for both the bookstore and the college.

  • Facilitate an outstanding customer experience by giving exemplary customer service
  • Supervise, schedule, and approve time sheets for employees.
  • Reliable daily register duties
  • Effectively communicate with customers and team
  • Merchandise displays and follow life-cycle of products
  • Answer questions and provide resources on campus
  • Assist students with purchasing decisions while thoroughly explaining store policies
  • Efficient and dependable contribution to register accounting and change orders
  • Product receiving, invoicing, and accounting responsibilities
  • Lead part-time team in absence of supervisor
  • Perform other related work duties as assigned

  • Assist supervisor with textbook and general merchandise systems to coordinate effectively with faculty, staff, and students for the good of the campus.

  • Flexibility in hours-worked will be expected during high-traffic times and call-ins.

Position involves working on a sales floor. Occasional (10-33%) pushing, pulling and sitting. Frequent (34-66%) viewing a computer, close visual work, and reaching.  Constant (67-100%) standing, walking, operating a cash register, lifting, repetitive motion, talking and hearing.

  • High School diploma or equivalency required
  • Some experience in Marketing, using InDesign, Photoshop, or other
  • Familiarity with MS Office programs
  • Cash handling, register and customer service experience.
Pay band for this position starts at $11.75
