The primary focus of these skills-based positions is to create consistent quality products made to New Pioneer standards from trusted ingredients. Outstanding customer service demonstrated through thoughtful preparation of appealing and nutritious foods for our full service deli and catering customers.

Working Environment:

In this creative, production, and oversight role you will be working in a retail, kitchen, and service environment. This position will require a high degree of manual dexterity and attention to detail while maintaining established product standards. There will be frequent use of commercial kitchen equipment including mixers, food processors, stoves, ovens, and knives. The workplace environment may also include frequent periods of time in walk in coolers and freezers. Directing others and interactive communication with customers, prepared foods team members (bakery, kitchen, and service counter) and team members on the retail service floor will be a daily occurrence.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a grocery store or food service environment with deli and catering responsibilities.
  • Experience with product development, menu planning, and costing software (Master Chef, ChefTec).
  • Experience in a supervisory role – training and directing others.
  • Ability to work with both hands in a fast-paced, creative environment in an efficient and controlled manner.
  • Ability to read and speak English and perform basic arithmetic associated with recipes and customer order needs.
  • Ability to accurately and consistently follow recipes and meet all New Pioneer quality standards.
  • Attention to detail and ability to stand and work long periods at a time.
  • Ability to lift and carry 15 – 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Ability to consistently project a friendly, open, and service oriented demeanor.
  • Food and Sanitation trained and certified (ServSafe or similar).
  • Familiarity with organic and natural foods.

Requirements:

  • This position requires excellent tenure and attendance history with a committed schedule which may include opening, mid-shift, and closing, and requires weekend, and holiday shift availability on a regular basis.

This is a full time, hourly position with a full benefits package.
Minimum starting wage: $12.10/hr. - $14.10/hr. (based on experience, skills test and 90 day performance evaluation)
