The Twelve01 Kitchen & Tap is seeking an energetic and driven Assistant Restaurant Manager. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of the restaurant industry and it's trends, act with professionalism at all times, display excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to take on projects and contribute to the overall success of the Food & Beverage Department. Salaried restaurant management experience is not required, but restaurant shift supervisor experience is a big plus!

Job Summary:

The Assistant Restaurant Manager will supervise, plan and direct all activities within the restaurant, he/she is ultimately responsible for financial metrics, inspections, and guest satisfaction of the restaurant.

Plan, organize, direct, and coordinate employees/resources of the restaurant for the efficient, well-prepared, and profitable service of the restaurant.

Self-initiative and motivation is essential for the success of the position.


Tasks and Duties:

Marketing and Business Relations

The Assistant Restaurant Manager plays a role as sales person for the restaurant, and in conjunction with the sales department should create short/long terms business targets within the community.

Maintain good business relationships with customers and staff, promote up-selling techniques with the staff, follow up with guest comments, monitor social media and proper follow up.

Implement ideas and products, create marketing plans and nightly specials, be knowledgeable of current industry trends.
Work with supervisor to create marketing plan, advertising, promote any special restaurant functions within the 4-walls, look for community marketing trends and opportunities.

Investigate and resolve complaints concerning food quality and service.

Daily Operations and Financial Responsibilities:

The Assistant Restaurant Manager should target to achieve restaurant operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining system improvements; implementing change.

Meets restaurant financial objectives by forecasting requirements; participate in preparing annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.

The Assistant Restaurant Manager will interview and hire restaurant staff, will monitor and insure proper training, fill out new hire paper work and conduct employee orientation.

Process and analyze information when scheduling and budgeting, get OT approval in advance, cost out schedule and hours of each employee, analyze schedule and needs.

Be 100% familiar with all menus, beverages and prices of the restaurant, hours of operations, special events and hotel amenities offered.

Conduct monthly beverage analysis, controls costs by reviewing portion control and quantities of preparation; minimizing waste; ensuring high quality of preparation.

Maximize bar profitability by ensuring portion control; monitoring accuracy of charges.

Identify and estimate quantities of beverages and bar supplies needs, coordinate with banquet manager liquor and wine orders to combine restaurant and banquet needs to place one order for the whole department.

Update and use job-related knowledge, create system of development with menu knowledge and bar menu items among staff.

Organize, plan, and prioritize immediate needs, create own action plan to complete project requested by supervisor, work consistently on daily responsibilities with day to day operations to include HR documentations and reports.

Make decisions and solve problems concerning menus and staff, POS system, develop systems for easy and effective execution, create effective approach with staff issues within 24 hrs of an issue has arise or reported.

Monitor FOH waste and create or modify systems to achieve food and beverage cost goals.

Monitor quality of food, preparation, presentation, occasionally dedicate few hours a week oversee expo area.

Handle food, utensils, monitor proper presentation and needs clean serving utensils during buffet, rotation and food handling.

Perform frequent table visits to ensure consistent high quality of service, insure guest satisfaction.

Work with chef for efficient provisioning and purchasing of supplies related to restaurant.

Work with chef and other personnel to review restaurant menus, nightly special base of trend and market expectations.

The Assistant Restaurant Manager will perform any other task or duties as assigned by supervisor.

Salary: $32,000-$40,000/yr
