Frontier Co-op is looking for a buyer who thrives in a dynamic environment to join our distributed brands team. We are a growing, dynamic and metrics-driven team that works hard and goes above and beyond to get the job done, but also likes to have fun while doing so. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, detail-oriented team player who will oversee the entire order process including, but not limited to, the following: purchasing finished goods produced by other brands for purposes of distribution, managing tracking systems, corresponding with internal teams, maintaining reliable lines of contact with vendors and forecasting inventory. This is a very collaborative and process oriented position.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Issues purchase orders.
  • Communicates with distributed brand vendors regarding PO lead-times, inventory positions and out of stock information.
  • Implements procurement strategies, tactics, and procedures for purchase items as developed by team leaders.
  • Ensures purchasing documents are completed properly and terms and conditions of purchases are appropriate.
  • Assists in resolving supplier invoice discrepancies.
  • Generates reports to determine progress on strategies and tactics and presents to department leaders.
  • Establishes and maintains effective communication with vendor partners, including working with other departments to resolve inventory and fulfillment issues.
  • Strives to reduce waste, recycle products whenever possible, and re-use resources when practical.
  • Works safely at all times, follows safety rules and policies and participates in scheduled training.
  • Reports injuries and near misses promptly and in required detailed format; proposes corrective action.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in business administration or related field from four-year college or university preferred; and less than a year of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret such items as general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or simple governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, or procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions where a certain degree of tact and discretion is needed.

 

QUANTITATIVE SKILLS

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
  • Ability to comprehend basic production, financial or scientific principles.
  • Ability to use a computer to create spreadsheets and charts, run reports, and analyze and apply that information to make practical, day-to-day business decisions.

 

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Highly collaborative in a team setting.
  • Process and systems oriented.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work within team concept.
