Midamar Corporation is seeking full time purchasing coordinator to oversee all purchasing of
protein items and various non-protein items, as well as oversee development of new or
reformulated items and ensure the company maintains proper inventory levels to avoid out of
stocks.

Job Description
  • Develop and maintain a working relationship with all raw material suppliers and finished product co-packers and ensure all products meet current specs.
  • Qualify potential new co-packers regarding development of new products and or find replacement co-packers for products that need to be replaced or reformulated.
  • Work with Management, Marketing, and Graphics Design on development of new and/or replacement products and coordinate the packaging design and layout for new and replacement products.
  • Contact and qualify current raw material suppliers and research new raw material suppliers.
  • Oversee and coordinate with raw material suppliers and co-packers that all documentation and certifications are in place and are received in a timely manner.
  • Ensure raw materials and finished products are purchased at the lowest cost possible taking into consideration quality, market conditions, source reliability, and production lead times.
  • Work with Controller and Sales staff on forecasting product needs and scheduling production runs to ensure proper inventory levels and ensure there are no out of stocks.
  • Working effectively with other departments including Management, Sales, Marketing, Graphic Design, Finance and Operations.

  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills and the ability to take initiative and make fact-based decisions.
  • Proven negotiating skills.
  • Ability to plan and organize complex projects
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and certification programs
  • Knowledge of nutrition and labeling guidelines
  • Written and verbal communication skills as well as interpersonal skills to develop and maintain effective business relationships both internally and externally.
  • Strong computer aptitude including Company mainframe programs, Word and Excel.
  • Ability to concentrate and deal with frequent interruptions.

Education: Bachelor degree.

Required experience:
  • Minimum of 3 plus years of processed meats product management experience or other packaged foods.
  • Experience in working with co-manufacturers.
  • Purchasing and negotiation experience.
  • Project management experience
